When I got these I tried them solo, and the only effect I noticed was that they made me sleepy. With a bit of experimentation, I found that if I took them a few minutes before my usual Tom Tea/O.J. cocktail, (to which I had added 1/4 tsp. of Blue Lotus extract), the effect was very pleasing. I've had problems with intense nightmares and occasional sleeplessness in the past. This extract helps me to combat both. It's more of a gradual, more natural relaxation. I've also come to enjoy lotus in my spare time when I'm just chilling with a book. My stress levels are down. I don't get as stressed out anymore which is awesome. Really appreciate this product. I've been searching for a natural safe source of support for my stress and restlessness. This stuff really does help me out. Id recommend it for sure. For some reason I always feel on edge, tense and by no means relaxed at all. I had my first panic attack when I was trying to get a nap in. It was very unpleasant. This lotus extract dulls that edge. First time I got a sample of this I tried it alone and didn't feel much but last order I got another sample and mixed the 1.5 grams with 2 grams of the Passion flower leaf powder and it was a really wonderful mix. I received a free sample of this, without asking which was great, thanks M&M! I tried it, adding the suggested 1/4th TSP amount to a glass of water. And I noticed after the normal amount of time, 30-45 minutes or so, in a situation where I could have forgotten about it so it wasn't placebo, that it did indeed give me a relaxed / drowsy feeling. Similar to Valerian and Chamomile (but less intense). Eventually I'll try it again with a doubled amount, perhaps a while before bedtime or a nap, to find out if it only makes me drowsy or if the relaxation aspect outweighs it and is enjoyable and makes me want to use more. In short, I think this is a nice product for those who want something to help them sleep, or those who want to help with relaxation. (Posted on 4/23/2016)

This extract is effective at producing relaxation, maybe too effective. At the recommended dose, I fall into a stuporous sleep. I noticed no aphrodisiac qualities as per the claims made elsewhere, nor any psychoactive properties whatsoever, just extreme relaxation. I suppose this would be helpful for calming nerves. The Blue Lotus 50:1 extract is truly relaxing. Great product and high quality. Here is an idea for all you good people..I am big on fungi and I have been adding the lotus to my shiitake tea(adaptagens are great) which works wonderfully for a nourishing immune boosting and stress reducing tea. I first tried Blue Lotus when I received a sample of it with another order. I liked its effect. Months later I placed an order for a larger quantity of the powder. Again, I was pleased,however, I did find I used more than suggested. The suggested measure for a serving did very little. When I increased the powder in my beverage I felt I had actually taken the Blue Lotus. : ) The price is causing me to hesitate to reorder though overall I'm pleased with this product and will mostly likely order it again. I like this product alot, i like the effects and i like what it is, i just wish i could have gotten more of it, because i feel like i need to take more at a time to feel the effect. I capsule this. I bought red reishi mushroom powder through Amazon and got a small sample of the 50:1 blue lotus flower powder. I liked the sample so much that I paid 40 bucks for the 30 gram size (including shipping) purchased directly from mood and mind. The product I spent all this money on does not smell or taste the same as the sample. I also did not get the pleasant effect like I did with the sample. Very disappointed and will never make another purchase from mood and mind again. I'm not sure if the paid product is old or just not the same as the sample, but I'm very unhappy. This was my first time trying Blue Lotus. Certainly a 50X strength sounds potent! Well I wasn't sure how much to try so I started with maybe 1/2 teaspoon. I have been using this product for about a year and a half now. Not only does it hit just the right spot, yet it makes the perfect meditation enhancer. I had ordered Mood And Mind's Blue Lotus a few times and then found what seemed to be a way better deal on line. However when I tried the other company's product it turned out to be far inferior (way less potent with an awful taste). The last time I ordered I noticed that Mood And Mind is now offering a higher quality product than they had in the past for the same price. I though it was to good to be true, yet when I received the Blue Lotus I was pleasantly surprised. I've been teaching yoga, Qi Gong and meditation for 20 years. This is a product I recommend to all of my clients... come on connect with those higher realms.
